Open Question: What is the best area to live in Boulder CO?

My husband and I are moving to Boulder to work at Whole Foods Market, Pearl St. We want to live somewhere nearby (walking distance, biking distance or easily accessible by public transportation). Ususally there are certain areas that are better to live in than others. Can anyone advise? We are looking for a 2 bedroom for $1000 but will settle for a large one bedroom.
